We used Wonders of Ethiopia in 2018 for a 13 day tour of the south and they were great. The guide , Golden, was very knowledgeable , attentive and also great company which is important when you are together for a fortnight.

I used them in them in the spring of 2018. We spend a week traveling in the lower omo valley. We choose to rough it and sleep in tents, rather than stay in hotels or motels. We were traveling with 3 women and 2 men. I cannot highly recommend them highly enough.

Not only did they take us to a bunch of amazing villages and tribes (one of which we spent the night in) but they were extremely flexible and helpful. Right at the start of our trip, we had to make a major modification because another group that was also traveling in Ethiopia had to change their plans and one of their members came to join us. They arranged for her to meet us part way through our trip. Despite the slight detour, they still made sure that we got to see everything that we were interested in.

The guides and drivers were also really personable. One of our group had a birthday while we were there and they took us all out to dinner, got her a gift and generally provided us with a really great party.

So Highly recommend.

I’ve just come back from Ethiopia and we used Wonders of Ethiopia, I was really impressed with the whole package we got. It was very reasonably priced and the guide really knew his stuff. The whole trip worked out really well and I would highly recommend them. Sive ( Ireland) 

I used them and I think that is an excellent choice to traveling throught Ethiopia. I was there with my friends one year ago on the south part, in the Omo valley.

Golden definitely went out of his way to make it that we did not visit these same tribes…often meaning longer travel times (but, that was important to us.) The gear, the cars, the drivers ….all awesome. Accommodation and food, also fantastic (so much that I needed a diet after.) The price of a guide – any guide – is expensive. But COMPLETELY necessary in Lower Omo, Simian Mountains, and Danakil. There’s just no way to explore if you do not have somebody that knows what they’re doing, has the friends, and has a very sturdy 4×4 that will get you there.

I’ve visited Ethiopia in January and I must say it was the best experience ever. I believe it’s very difficult to coordinate a group (it was 15 of us) on that kind of trip, but it seemed Golden had no problem with that. I must say that this journey has exceeded all of my expectations thanks to good organisation.

I highly recommend Wanderlust Ethiopia tours and I hope I’ll have a chance to travel with them again (next time to the northern part).
